K12 Gallery for Young People HAALO (Helping Adolescents Achieve Life-Long Objectives) Unveiling, June 2011

With the support of a Dayton Foundation discretionary grant, the K12 Gallery for Young People unveiled six gigantic murals on June 8, 2011. Replicas of great works by master artists, the murals were designed as part of K12’s HAALO project (Helping Adolescents Achieve Life-Long Objectives), in collaboration with the Montgomery County Juvenile Court System. More than 30 youth, ages 10 to 18, in the juvenile court system created the artwork, which can be viewed on the 600 block of East Third Street in downtown Dayton.

The Dayton Foundation's Video, "We're Here for Good," Produced in 1996

The Dayton Foundation's "We're Here for Good" video was produced in 1996 to celebrate the Foundation's 75th anniversary. This 13-minute video tells the story of The Dayton Foundation through the people who have been most impacted by the Foundation's community presence – the Foundation's donors and the recipients of these donors' generosity.

Please note that while some of the representatives of the charitable organizations featured in the video (and as noted in the 1996-written captions) have since moved from their positions, the video's message remains timeless and powerful viewing.

"The Future's Hope: The Story of Miami Valley Kids Who Care," Produced in 2000

Commissioned by The Dayton Foundation in 2000, "The Future's Hope: The Story of Miami Valley Kids Who Care" tells the story of young people all across the Greater Miami Valley who are making a difference as youth volunteers. This 10-minute video was filmed by 17- and 18-year-old student filmmakers, who truly captured the spirit of giving that these teens all shared.
"Crayons to Classrooms" Opening Day in 2008

The "Crayons to Classrooms" six-minute video documents Dayton's Crayons to Classrooms opening day and the impact the program had on the first teachers to walk through its doors. The Dayton Foundation and the Mathile Family Foundation launched this community leadership initiative in 2008 to provide free educational supplies to teachers for students in need.
